Tribute to Egberto Gismonti`s and Hermeto Pascoal`s music
André Mehmari & Hamilton de Holanda releasing "gismontipascoal" duo's second album
Hermeto Pascoal and Egberto Gismonti: two pillars of modern Brazilian music are the inspiration and motivation for the new gathering of the award winning musical duo André Mehmari and Hamilton de Holanda. Legitimate representatives and guardians of this beautiful and long tradition of musicians, the duo plays with precision and spontaneity the genius compositions of the masters, in a minimalist but surprisingly colorful duo of piano and mandolin. The repertoire includes classics from Hermeto and Egberto, Frevo, São Jorge (St. George), Clown, Loro and Untouchable, as well their own compositions as Menino Hermeto, Chorinho pra Eles and a tribute to the visionary duo with the beautiful and simple "Gismontipascoal," the first compositional partnership of Andre and Hamilton, presented in two contrasting versions.
Crowning the work, the very presence of Egberto in "Speak of passion" and Hermeto "Music of the clouds and the ground" on the CD is fresh, bright and unforgettable: the listener is moved by a timeless celebration of great music without labels, in a Continuous Friendship.
On stage, the duo's constant exchange of ideas has proven to be an stimulating musical experience, a true celebration of great modern Brazilian music, without labels.
It's beauty in favor of art as Hermeto says "who plays an instrument can`t be the instrument of the instrument ever" and the Egberto`s desire "retribution that desire is very difficult for some people, obviously not for you: I wish that you continue forever guardians of Brazilian music, remembering always that music is much greater than us all. "
